Welcome to the Tuesday night Fourth Dimension Big Book Study Group. This meeting is an in-depth study of the Big Book with an emphasis on working the Steps by following the clear-cut directions and time tables contained in the Basic Textbook – Alcoholics Anonymous.
We believe that it is our sacred duty to continue the conversation between Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith; toward this goal our Fourth Dimension Big Book Step Study Groups* has trudged for over 30 years (since 1985). Our particular meeting averages 70 people every week. This is a simple program of action laid before us in The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. This basic text gives us clear-cut directions on how to work the steps. It also tells us exactly when to work the steps. We keep it simple like Bill W., Dr. Bob and the first A.A. Groups in Cleveland, Ohio did.
"If you are as seriously alcoholic as we were, we believe there is no middle-of-the-road solution. We were in a position where life was becoming impossible, and if we had passed into the region from which there is no return through human aid, we had but two alternatives: One was to go on to the bitter end, blotting out the consciousness of our intolerable situation as best we could; and the other, to accept spiritual help." We are making a good progress in the spirit of the AA fellowship; that progress is from the word spreading around about how these 4D Groups are getting people sober. The Fourth Dimension Big Book Study Groups are true to the program of action that Bill Wilson wrote for us:
“Sobriety—freedom from alcohol—through the teaching and practice of the Twelve Steps, is the sole purpose of an AA Group.”
